Un poema de Isabel Papacostas. Lo acompaña su traducción al inglés por Olivia Petipas.
If not for flesh
si no fuera carne
sería un arroyo
pequeña viborita de agua
abriendo camino entre las piedras
me imagino flaco, largo, silencioso,
ligero y amigo del viento.
viviría de duchar con los pájaros
de saciar la sed de las hormigas.
si no fuera carne me escurriría
entre los huecos, entre los troncos
me escurriría hasta de pronto
desaparecer
así de sencillo:
volverme
tierra y
nada.
— traducción por olivia petipas
if i were not flesh
i would be a stream
small snake of water
opening paths between stones
i see myself thin, long, quiet,
light, an ally of the wind.
exist just to bathe with birds
quench the thirst of ants.
if i were not flesh i would run
through the holes, between the logs.
i would run until
disappearing
humbly
becoming
earth and
nothing.
